Tilling with a tiller replaces digging the soil with a hand tool. The soil should be neither dry nor muddy, but in a state of moisture that we call the soil's moisture content. The soil should also be free of stones and other obstacles such as pipes, cables, etc. that may create a problem for the tiller or safety.

Tilling is mainly done in the spring when we prepare the soil for sowing vegetables and flowers. It is also done all year round when we want to incorporate fertilizer or organic matter into the soil by tilling (the organic matter can be peat, manure or the product of composting or shredding). For the incorporation, special attention is needed so that the material we incorporate is mixed evenly with the soil both on the surface and in depth. For this reason, multiple passes are always needed. Milling is also done when we want to cut and destroy weeds, mainly in spring and summer.

We also use tillers to mill between the rows of our plants for weed control, for aerating the plant roots and for better watering results.

An excellent machine for milling in narrow passages is the Italian RTT2 from Eurosystems with a narrow milling cutter and metal wheels, you can find it HERE.

If the ground is sloping, then we follow the course of the slope along the length of the tiller so that we do not work on a large uphill or downhill slope. The method with the cross-course method is more helpful in difficult soils that require a lot of work or when we need to incorporate some material into the soil.

There are four-stroke and two-stroke gasoline tillers that can work on slopes without a problem, tillers with a diesel engine for hard soils and small electric tillers for gardens and small private areas.

You can find all kinds of tillers with a trailed tiller or motor cultivators that also take wheels on the knives.

A large and important category of tillers that we have are the Italian multi-machines Eurosystems P55 EVO & P70 EVO, which are converted from trailed tillers to bar mowers, grass shredders, snow blowers and much more, you can see them HERE.
